But in areas without water, such as the living room, bedroom, study, etc., it is possible to use high-quality pointing agents. In areas with water and easy to get dirty, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and balconies, dark or black pointing agents can be used.
If you want to save money, don’t make beautiful stitches.
Assuming a 100 square meter house, only one kitchen, two bathrooms, and one balcony need to be tiled, with an area of approximately 80 square meters. According to the conventional wall tiles of 300*600mm, floor tiles of 300*300mm, and a gap of 2mm, pointing is sufficient.
The gaps in the tiles are too narrow or too wide, so there is no need to make beautiful joints.
Generally speaking, when making beautiful joints in ceramic tiles, the gaps should not be too narrow or too wide. Most polished bricks, glazed bricks, and full body bricks are laid with a gap of 1-3mm reserved, so there is no problem with making beautiful joints. However, for those with gaps of 5mm or less, such as marble tiles with tight joints and antique tiles with too wide gaps, they are not suitable for making beautiful joints. If the gaps are too narrow, the construction difficulty will be high, and if they are too wide, they will require too many materials and not be cost-effective.
